Color Coding

Color Coding
I am a big fan of color coding. From files to labels to storage bins, color coding helps keep things organized. All my business files are red. Each client has a clearly marked orange two-inch binder. If you store your holiday items, for example, in cardboard boxes, try color-coded bins, all labeled so there is no doubt what’s in them. This helps immensely in finding what you are looking for a year later, and helps when putting things away until next year.

Use color coded labels on these bins rather than a Sharpie on the bin itself. Labels can be removed or covered with a new label. Permanent markers can easily make a mess and lead to more confusion as it is very difficult to erase what is already written.

Applications for color-coding are abundant in most homes. It is simple, efficient and effective.
